I Have One Grandmother, One Mother, Two Sisters And Four Aunts.

Lights Will Light Up, 2019, modified dishwashers with sound and light, 40”x 45” x 21”.

Sound comes out from a dishwasher that I modified into a sound amp light box sculpture. The playing audio is a poem that I reconfigured from the dishwasher’s instruction manual by selecting the sentences that includes the active terms, “light” and “opening”. I wanted to give the object an agency(or a voice) by reconstructing the language that is already given.

식기 세척기를 라이트 박스로 개조한 조각은 소리 앰프로써도 작동한다. 식기세척기 조각에서 재생되는 오디오는 식기 세척기 사용 설명서에서 "빛"과 "열림"이라는 진취적인 단어가 포함된 문장들 만을 선택하여 재구성한 시이다. 나는 어떻게 이미 주어진 언어를 재구성하여 물건에게 주체성(또는 음성)을 부여할 수 있을까 생각하였다.

Similar to Lights Will Light Up, I modified the laundry Machine into a sound amp sculpture. The playing audio is a poem that I reconfigured from the laundry Machine’s instruction manual by selecting the sentences that includes the body parts such as, “foot”, “hand” and “face”.

빛은 빛날 것입니다 와 유사한 방식으로 세탁기와 스피커를 결합하여 소리 앰프 조각을 만들었다. 재생되는 오디오는 세탁기 사용 설명서에서 "발", "손", “얼굴” 과 같은 신체 부위를 포함한 문장들 만을 선택하여 재구성한 시이다.
